Painting with Dance

Deep Water Moves Dance Company invites you to our latest interactive project with Artist/Engineer Dan Pearce,

Painting with Dance, in PVCC’s Let There Be Light on Friday, December 8, 2023(rain date Saturday, December 9). We perform at 6:15 pm, 7:15 pm and 8 pm.

Painting with Dance demonstrates how we can use our bodies to create designs with light. Come see—and try yourself!

In between performances, we will invite spectators to paint with light using their own movement.

We would love a few movers who could encourage spectators to move with the light. Please contact me if you are interested!!

In our fourth year performing at Let There Be Light, Deep Water Moves is delighted to welcome Dance Artist Susan Barnard back into our company as a guest artist co-creating and performing this piece. As always, Roberta Cook is key to the piece’s production and performance—which would not exist without the expertise and hard work of Dan Pearce.

Let There Be Light is an annual outdoor light art festival on the Piedmont Virginia Community College campus (501 College Dr., Charlottesville). Come see the light art exhibits December 8 from 6pm -9pm. Bring a flashlight and dress warmly. Make sure to vote for Painting with Dance in the People’s Choice for Best Exhibit!!
